Resistance Training can be done via bodyweight, resistance bands or machines, dumbbells or kettlebells and not only helps us build strength but improves muscle size and helps counteract age-related muscle loss.  Most recently it has become more popular for reducing body fat and losing weight by increasing after-burn hours after exercise, thereby increasing the number of calories we burn at rest.

In women, unlike men, they do not gain size from resistance training, this is due to levels of testosterone women have compared to men.  Women will develop muscle tone and definition without size.

Sharon & Kev
Sharon and Kevin came to me in 2019 to try and improve their running and work on weaknesses created from running.
At the start of 2020 Sharon was running at an 11 minute mile pace with the goal of getting it down to 10 minutes (that she was well on her way to).
After working on leg training with myself, they completed the Severn Bridge 5 mile race in 45:50 (just over 9 minute mile pace) which is a huge accomplishment for Sharon.

Kirsty Beavis

Kirsty is a long term client of mine and has made some amazing progress over time. We entered the CrossFit Cheltenham mixed pairs competition in February 2018.  Kirsty started to plateau with her weight loss so we changed it up! We started to do weekly check-ins on both weight and take measurements to keep her more accountable. Over an 8 week period Kirsty lost a stone, plus significant amounts on her measurements, most notably 12cm off her waist.

The Last Tri 2020 - Sprint Triathlon Lydney
Well done to Alex and Earl for dragging me through our first Relay Triathlon! We did it in 1:04.51!! Great work guys, on to the next!!
Severn Bridge 10k 2020...
Massive well done to Alex, Sharon and Kevin for completing the Severn Bridge 10k last weekend!!

British Dressage Winter National Championships 2020...
Massive congratulations to Josie Kent for competing in 3 classes up to PSG at the British Dressage Winter National Championships and placing 1st in the Advanced Medium class!!
Josie has been training with me for around 3 years now, we have been working on her posterior chain and core to keep help with her riding and to make sure she stays in a good position!

Social Bike Ride... 18+miles!
I had a great time at the FMF Social Bike Ride, I hope everyone else who was involved did as well!! Maybe another one to come soon!!
